KP39MA Korppivaara is also old road east side what can be UFB to SW for summertime but east side is still more hill.. When goes road to Sevettijдrvi there is KP39VD P place - after that road goes still more up - just is parking place? later KP39WF is with GSM tower 1st hill on the road, just not open road wintertime. There is been also "palovartio" fire control and over 50 mtr higher QTH than lake near that.

KP38LA Lohivaara is just after Porttipahta tekojдrvi and when drive up there is old road right side is 60 mtr higher than Porttipahta lake, just wintertime without snowworks, anyway . Of course KP38RK Kaunispдд hilltop is best one - if not QRM from other transmitter.

Fresh morning - nite was around -25c so pretty cool... but now I know that Webasto diesel heater is enough to keep van warm overnite also. Early morning on the road. Maybe before Vuontisjдrvi will be some good QTH if there is roads summertime - now was just snow... KP37IJ left side is quite good QTH if gate is open, also after "ravirata" right side ok for MS. KP37IQ anyway better on "bog" but even more north will say KP37IV P place is ok, also possible to go under P near river.

KP36 was guite good start when drive in - didnt recognise it before drive "down to Kemijдrvi". after Kemijдrvi all is quite flat but like KP36QU is "peat bog" not hill but also not any hill near here. So time to stop 2nd driving day - now 2144 local time 887 km done.

was maybe too far away from road so didn't copy any signal when "sing in OH9" side. Seems next near ones will be more near LA side.

KP46 start nice looking - company "Pцlkky" have good opening place, then come Ruka, but that slalom center is too full built - not for real camping - many cottages anyway, more driving and find KP46HJ, that is UFB QTH, P place hilltop.

1st day was already still enough daylight to look futures new pedition QTH's (Been already QRV from KP41,43,53 &45 so not so much interest, also was today on KP42 but there I know QTH, and KP44 where was also - there is just small piece in county (parish) Paltamo where is possible to be QRV on 4m, other countie areas are forbidded)

After inspecting OH7HXH ham shack back on to road - really how to say - ghost road KP53-KP44 Pankakoski-Kuhmo-Suomussalmi because most of time just not any houses, just few empty school without snow works. Even my side is also much forest and few homes - can feel still that we are even bit alive. Center Kuhmo is anyway quite big (and similar like our S-E part of Finland - can hear much russian language).

so after new van toilet! (during next pedition not need to stop pile'up never!) back on the road. 1st time drived to north via most easter variant and really, 1st time when hear on 1 QTH 4 different OIRT station - sorry Kari OH7HXH, just few km east from your QTH.

I had plan to start 24th morning, but evening 23th had head full of ideas abt trip so I just saw - no sleep and jump to van - drived city Joensuu 185 km for shopping, on shop parking place I had then good time to sleep nearly 8 hour...

as I know - too long time to stay home is never been my 1st hobby, so out of MS major showers need to do something, why not to check out how many OIRT station is still QRV UA1N & UA1Z side, also same tour can look out some great future expedition QTH's
